Lisinopril - Zestril received FDA approval to launch into the
US market in June 2002 after excessive clinical trials. The pill was
finally approved for present and future treatment. ACE inhibitor is
a drug, which is used particularly in the treatment of hypertension
and chronic heart failure. These are inhibitors of the enzyme
conversion of angiotensin (Angiotensin Converting Enzyme = ACE ECA),
which is an element of a cascade regulating blood pressure (System
Rénine-angiotensin-Aldostérone). The components inhibiting ACE
initially were found in snake venom.
The main representatives used in the therapeutic area are captopril,
enalapril, lisinopril and ramipril. Given their strong therapeutic
importance, Lisinopril - Zestril are among the substances generating
turnovers highest. US are amongst the biggest manufacturer of the
drug and have a high sale chart on the internet as well.
ACE inhibitors, such as captopril, enalapril substances and their
successors have a structure similar to that of peptide isolated from
the venom of the Brazilian snake Jararaca - spearhead, BPP. The
sequence of the tri-peptides consist of the three amino acids;
Tryptophan, Alanine, Proline and also has been identified as the
effective component. In addition, with the exception of captopril
and lisinopril, all ACE inhibitors used therapeutically and are
pro-drugs, which are activated in the body. In the case of enalapril,
this happens by the demerger of the group ethyl by esterases, the
active form, enalaprilat being formed with a free carboxyl group.
FDA approved Lisinopril - Zestril despite its side effects obviously
because they happen in most rare cases of negligence.
