Before taking Lisinopril - Zestril the first thing that crosses the
mind after the desired effect is what are its side effects? ACE
stoppers are generally quite easily endured by most patients but
their side effects are not unknown of. Some patients have been
advised against the intake of Lisinopril - Zestril for fear of a
reaction too severe. Pregnant women are not prescribed these
medicines because they are likely to cause problems in the birth of
the child.
Patients with previous severe reactions to ACE stoppers are
recommended to avoid use of the drug again. Most common side effects
include coughing, blood potassium level increased, blood pressure
falls, headaches, dizziness, drowsiness, weakness, rash and an
abnormal taste in the mouth. The coughing may take a month’s time
for the cough to minimize and it is also likely that if one form of
ACE inhibitor has caused this then a similar reaction ought to be
expected from another ACE inhibitor. If extreme side effects are to
be considered then they include failure of kidney, reactions
initiated by allergies, low white blood cell count and the tissues
of the body to swell.
Lisinopril - Zestril with the first dose may cause dizziness and
cause the blood pressure to drop. It may cause nausea, anxiety,
insomnia, headaches, nasal congestion, sexual dysfunction and
drowsiness. The drug must be stopped as soon as the first sign or
symptom of an allergic reaction is noticed which includes the
swelling of the face, lips, throat and tongue. The rare occurrences
of hives and anaphylaxis have also been noted. Also very rarely a
drop in the red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets has
been noticed.
